NCEA does not explicitly measure the skills and qualities that employers value. These are known as soft skills, transferable skills, key competencies or work readiness skills. Taranaki Futures supports schools to run two great work ready programmes; the Youth Employablity Programme (Licence to Work) and the Work Ready Passport.
Youth Employability Programme
Take part in the Youth Employable programme and earn your 'Licence to Work'.
The Licence to Work answers the questions “What is Work Ready?” and “How do you prove it?”.
Work Ready Passport
The Work Ready Passport was developed over several years after conversations with many employers to identify what is work ready and how do you prove it. Collect evidence of your skills and experience in support of the ten employer identified work-ready skills and gain your Work Ready Passport.
