Celebrating Engineering & Electrical Apprentice Excellence

This year marks the 15th year of celebrating engineering and electrical apprenticeships in Taranaki, with the annual ETC Apprenticeship awards scheduled for 14 November. The event, sponsored by Taranaki Futures, is about celebrating the development of talent in the engineering industry.

The Taranaki Futures 2019 ‘Build a Trailer’ programme, delivered in collaboration with ETC and WITT, will see the trailer built by students auctioned live at the awards event. The programme is modeled off the successful ‘Build a Bach’ project, and includes students building a trailer over the course of the year to help bring their learning to life. They also spend one day per week out gaining real-life industry experience on the shop-floor at ETC companies. “The collaboration is about supporting youth pathways into the engineering industry” says General Manager Belinda Mooney. Proceeds from the trailer sale will go towards Taranaki Futures 2020 programme.

More information on the awards, including how to make a nomination or purchase tickets to the event, can be found at the ETC website.
